COAST GUARD WRECK SG 121:

As a result of the efforts of several diving centres in Fethiye and personal efforts, the coast guard ship SG 121, which was scrapped, was sunk at a point near Afkule in 2011. In the first years, the wreck was lying perfectly on its hull at a depth of 28m with its magnificent hull. However, in the following years, it was split in two by the current and bottom movements and nowadays it has turned into a simple shipwreck. The bridge top and living quarters were detached from their welding places and scattered around. Unfortunately, no one obeyed the hunting ban around the wreck and even the buoy on it was stolen. Be careful where you hold while going down on the buoy rope, otherwise shellfish can cut your hand. On days with good visibility, you can see the wreck from 8-10 metres. If there is no current, when you approach the wreck, leave the rope and move to the port side and proceed. First make a full circle around the wreck, then ascend to the deck and continue your exploration. As your bottom time will start to decrease, head towards the rocky area at the stern of the wreck, the depth is 20-22 metres. While shoals of shrimp and lahos swim around you, greedy dwarf pufferfish follow you without getting bored. Since your dive will always be 20m. and above, your bottom time will be over after 25-30 minutes of diving. End your dive by making your safety pause.

Level: Only suitable for experienced divers.
